Cycling in Vietnam. Travel for one year through Asia
We are travelling by bicycle for one year in Asia with our young children. From Moscow to Ho Chi Minh through Russia, Mongolia, China, Vietnam, Lao, Thailand, Cambodia.
Travelling off the beaten tourist tracks makes this experience worthwhile. In Vietnam, we always met people who helped us or who were interested in learning more about our culture. Vietnam is also a nice place if you like to negotiate prices.
After cycling in China we hit the road in Vietnam. Cycling in Vietnam can be really annoying in the cities or on busy roads like the one between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Beeping the horn is a national game. Ear plugs are a good investment. We cycled about 800 kilometers and then decided to find quieter roads. That’s why we crossed the border at Lao Bao and continued our adventure on the dirt tracks through the jungle of southern Laos (next film to edit). The roads were less busy, but not easy to find : we got lost.
Vietnam is not a great place for wild camping. We therefore stayed in one location for a long time. Here are three shorts films showing aspects of daily life in the city, the countryside and at the sea.
